Dental decay problem

Hi doctors, one of my upper molar tooth has decayed now. From few days I have started feeling sensitivity and sinus pain. Could cementing be a solution now. I have extracted one of my lower molar earlier but I don't want to extract now instead cement it. Please suggest.

First we need to assess the extent of tooth damage. If it is very close to nerves and in the position to save which can be evaluated on x ray then root canal treatment would be advised rather than just filling with cement. This need to be followed by crown over a tooth.

Hi..root canal is the only solution. Filling cannot be done in sensitivity or pain. Regards

Dear Practo User, Saving a tooth is always preferred over extraction. As far as treatment protocol is concerned a thorough evaluation is required to decide whether a restoration would be enough or any other treatment options. Regards Dr Ankit Jain Arham Dental Care

The treatment for your problem cannot be given without looking it clinically and if necessary x-rays need to be taken. If you really doesn't want your teeth to be pulled (http://www.drkarthikreddy.com/2016/05/26/extraction/) out nothing to worry, it's really good decision because there are other options too. If the decay is in Enamel and also extending into dentin it can be simply restored with available filling materials of your choice. Once it crosses denting and reaches pulp than it should be treated endodontically with root canal treatment. Thank you

Yes your tooth can be saved with RCT and cap. Post may be required if tooth structure is not sufficient.

Hi friend , I would advice you to get a dental x ray and see the extent of decay... from your description it seems that your teeth is decayed severely and might need a root canal treatment which will save the teeth and a good cap on that might serve your pourpose

Most likely the tooth can be saved and will require root canal treatment followed by restoration with a cap..... a dentist who performs a clinical examination will be able to guide you better with the treatment options available .... Regards.....
