Platelet counts usually drop significantly by day 4 of illness. In adults with dengue shock, platelet counts drop considerably from day 3 to day 7 of illness and return to normal by day 8 or 9 or in  few weeks if the count is significantly low. Add papaya leaves, mixed herbs, pomegranate, coconut water, turmeric, fenugreek, orange, citrus fruits in the diet for speedy recovery Papaya leaves help elevate the platelet counts .
