Dear patient,
It is not always necessary to put a crown after RCT. But in many cases, a lot of tooth structure is lost due to decay and the RC procedure. So, to strengthen the tooth so that it can withstand all sorts of chewing forces, a crown is suggested. This is for the long term health of the tooth that we have saved by doing RCT. You may start the crown procedure immediately, if your dentist has advised it.
