Covid Vaccine For Diabetic Patient

Hello Doctors, My father is diabetic and have hypertension. His usual sugar level is around 260, and BP is around 143/99. He takes meds for both these issues. I want to know what precautions we should take before going for covid vaccination. Thanks

Would advise that he gets vaccine as soon as possible. Uncontrolled diabetes and high blood pressure put him at increased risk for COVID, therefore would advise vaccination. Side effects of vaccine are not observed at higher rate in diabetics. His sugar level is high, and needs to be controlled better to reduce complications of diabetes such as kidney injury, stroke, heart attack, nerve damage and cataract/ retinopathy and to reduce risk for COVID.
Next Steps
Please consult online to discuss details of sugars, kidney and liver function ,latest Hba1c ( 3 month average sugar) and changes in medications . BP is also on higher side , medicines need to be adjusted
