Coughing while breastfeeding

2026-03-06 09:27:57
My daughter is 20 days old, for the past 2 days she is coughing while breastfeeding even when I hold her head elevated. She coughs and inhales with a high pitched sound twice or thrice and then she starts crying. I am supporting her to sit and pat her back. After that she settles and then starts drinking again. Sometimes the cough is noted again. Is it normal ?

It’s normal behaviour and you should burp adequately and if baby is not taking feeds then consult nearby paediatrician

It is normal body reflex....show in person if associated with bluish discoloration..not accepting feeds, fever, and laboured breathing.
