Compulsive masturbation during sleep

2026-01-27 11:35:09
Compulsive masturbation during sleep – looking for medical help I used to masturbate daily to fall asleep faster. I followed this habit for around 7 years. For the last 6 years, it is happening automatically while I am lying in bed. My brain is not fully awake when it happens. It feels like semi-sleep. I tried changing sleep positions (stomach, back, side), but it does not help. Even during sleep, the body starts doing it automatically. I have taken therapy, but it has not helped. There is no pleasure now. It feels like a compulsion, not desire. This habit is disturbing my sleep and mental peace. Question: Is there any medicine that can help directly or indirectly? I am looking for medical treatment, not moral advice. Thank you.

In a dazed state masturbation can be a compulsive behavior or habit which you have inculcated so many years. First of all do not feel guilty. Masturbation is a healthy form of sexual out let. If you are doing in involuntarily or semi voluntarily. Consult a psychiatrist and seek remedy. Good luck

– This is treatable. – Therapy alone often fails unless combined with medication. – A psychiatrist should rule out OCD, anxiety disorder, SSRI-responsive parasomnia, and habit-conditioning. Recommend in-person psychiatric evaluation for structured pharmacological treatment rather than self-trial.

You clearly do not need any mental health related advice, but you need to consult good urologist and psychiatrist in your city,if it’s happening automatically then there can be some muscle related abnormality,if not then good psychiatrist can listen to your entire history and help you through this
