Your description is inadequate because you don't have full information. I feel they first tried to manage ectopic pregnancy through Laparoscopy but that did not succeed due to dense adhesions between intestines and Uterus. So they opened up the abdomen. They could do total surgery for ectopic pregnancy but the attempt to remove endometriotic tissue was inadequate. Due to prolonged surgery they closed the abdomen. Some endometriotic tissue started draining out through Abdominal wound. So an abdominal drain has been put from where the peritoneal fluid will keep coming out. It will take 1-2 weeks but slowly it will clear out.
