First of all I ll like to confirm you it’s not a major issue and you will be all right. Coming to your problem chondromalacia is just a cartilage deficiency disease which in layman means that your cartilage layer is getting degenerated. For now without a consultation it will be difficult for an absolute diagnosis but you need to meet a physiotherapist and learn some exercises which will help strengthen your knee and reduce pain . There are also supplements/medicines which will help you with strengthen your cartilage layer .
For time being avoid jumping jogging and stair walking .take over the counter painkillers for pain and apply ice if it aggravates.
