Hi There, I am 23 weeks pregnant with DCDA twins through Ivf. Today I had anamoly scan and my cervical length is 2.8 cm. In scan report it is mentioned as Dynamic funneling of internal Os noted to a length of 0.8 cm with shortening of intact to 2cm(tvs). My doctor admitted me in hospital immediately and said to be on strict bed rest. I have been taking duphaston 10mg and Susten 400 twice a day from the time of embryo transfer. Now they have given Duvadilan Tablet 4 times a day. I m worried. Please tell me if I will be able to deliver my babies safe. Will I be able to go to full term? Hospital bedrest is making me restless.

Your cervical length is less and funelling  has started that means you are at risk of preterm labour. Best would be cervical encirclage . Rest and other supportive medicine are required alongwith.

Normal Cervical length: More than or equal to 2.5cm What is Cervical incompetence: 1. If cervical length less than 2.5 cm. 2. If Internal is open or funneling then irrespective of Cervical length What to do: Complete bed rest, Susten, Duphaston will help to keep ur uterus calm and to prevent preterm labour due to cervical incompetence. As u have twin pregnancy then ur test duration may be more. Cervical Encirclage is compulsory. With Encirclage and complete bed rest you will deliver babies safely. Do not panic. Be positive.
