CBC and ESR
On my routine tests, my ESR came back high at 58. It has been persistently elevated, as my previous report a few months ago showed 49. Other tests, including kidney function, liver function, urine, and CBC, are all within normal limits. Since my ESR has risen from 49 to 58 without any obvious cause should I be concerned?

Your ESR is significantly elevated
Possible reasons -
1) long term low grade infections ( sinusuitis/dental infection/TB)
2)autoimmune conditions(rhuematoid arthritis/ spondylitis)
3) was there any recent viral infection/ illness
Would i like to suggest a CRP done to rule out infection

ESR is a non-specific test and can remain high due to inflammation, stress, or even minor infections, but since all other reports are normal it usually isn’t a cause for major concern. With a few more tests and proper follow-up the exact reason can be clarified, and most cases like this improve with management.
