I feel the previous x ray must be used to decide your treatment. It makes no sense to repeat a scan unless the previous scan has poor quality. The first option is to reduce the exposure to x ray. But if it's for your help and better treatment only a repeat scan is justifiable.
It's not harmful to take CT scans. But caution must be placed on the need of the scan.
