Surgery for DNS will correct the septal deviation and allow a roomy cavity that will relieve the nasal obstruction. Also, removal of the nasa polyp is also necessary as it is causing obstruction and contributing to your nasal obstruction. Yes recurrence of the polyp may be there (and may not occur) but recurrence can be delayed if you continue to take care and long term medication prescribed by your doctor. The side effects of these meds are minimal.
All said, getting a surgery at this time is required because of the symptoms. The nasal obstruction will only increase with time. Please do not avoid the surgery at present thinking of recurrence in the future.
