Can Braces + elastics fix my underbite?

2023-10-04 04:41:01
I have a slight underbite and crossbite along with gaps in my teeth, I'm not willing to go with surgery as I found a lot of excellent results online with Braces + elastics to treat similar conditions. Will my case be treated the same?

Hello sir You should get the consultation from orthodontist (who does treatment of malaligned teeth). You need to get one full mouth xray done (full mouth OPG).This xray will be very helpful for your treatment planning.Start your treatment as early as possible to get the best results in less time duration.
Next Steps
Visit orthodontist and start with the advised treatment

This is a mandibular prognathism situation, also called as Class 3 jaw relation. However an Orthodontist will be able to make out if this a true Class 3 or pseudo Class 3. Accordingly the treatment plan will be worked out. From the images sent it appears there is not much need for surgery. Again , only an orthodontist who has done ortho surgery cases can assess it properly. Braces should work fine. The final result will depend on the mutually agreed treatment plan between you and the orthodontist
Next Steps
visit the nearest orthodontist for a check up

Plz don’t be distracted by online information. It can prove out to be catastrophic at times! Take opinion from an experienced and well qualified orthodontist. If required take multiple opinions. But follow treatment plan suggested by an orthodontist. Good luck

Actually there are many factors other than what you have mentioned, in treatment. So better Visit a local orthodontist for physical evaluation and treatment (as required)
