Usually to do with acid levels changing in your stomach as your symptoms have been for a fortnight. We call it ‘Dyspepsia’. Take some Gaviscon (basically an anti-acid) liquid and should settle. Smoking, alcohol and excess weight can make these symptoms worse. All the best. J G S R (Online) Clinic

Sorry to hear about your distress. Your eating times are good and walking definitely helps. However, what you eat also matters and how much you eat too. Burps could be due to many reasons, but being there for 15 days , could be sorted by trying simple planned meals first and avoid some. Avoid spicy foods, more gassy foods, fast/junk foods.. Prefer - more of greenies, more water content eatables..
Next Steps
Try for 10- 14 days, if no improvement, pls go for over the counter antacids, if not working, then please consult.

Burping that gets worse just before meals usually happens due to one of the following: Gastritis or acid build up in an empty stomach When the stomach stays empty for 4 to 5 hours, acid and gas accumulate. This releases as burping before the next meal. Swallowed air (aerophagia) When hungry or anxious, many people swallow small amounts of air without realizing. This increases burping before meals. H pylori related acidity A common stomach infection that can cause gas bloating burping empty stomach discomfort Mild reflux or indigestion If the lower esophageal valve is a bit loose, gas escapes easily as burps, especially when the stomach is empty. Diet pattern Tea, coffee, fast eating, carbonated drinks or spicy foods can worsen burping. Why walking after dinner helps but not before meals After dinner your stomach is full, digestion is going on, gas has a way to move down smoothly and walking helps. Before lunch or dinner your stomach is empty, so gas tends to move upward as burps. This pattern is common and not dangerous.
Next Steps
What you can do to reduce burping One. Eat something small between meals Do not keep the stomach empty for more than four hours. Have a small snack around 11 am and 5 pm. For example banana few nuts toast curd biscuit This prevents acid build up and reduces burping significantly. Two. Take an acid reducing medicine for a few days Pantoprazole 40 mg or Rabeprazole 20 mg Take once daily before breakfast for seven to ten days. Three. Use a digestive enzyme after meals A digestive enzyme tablet or syrup after lunch and dinner can help reduce gas formation. Four. Reduce triggers Avoid carbonated drinks Limit tea or coffee on empty stomach Reduce very spicy or oily foods Eat slowly Avoid chewing gum Five. Increase water intake Small frequent sips help wash down swallowed air and reduce burping. Six. If symptoms persist You may need a simple test for H pylori or a course of medicine for it.
Health Tips
Only if you have severe abdominal pain vomiting weight loss black stools chest pain not related to meals Otherwise burping without other symptoms is usually functional and harmless. Most likely cause in your case Empty stomach acidity and swallowed air are the most probable reasons. Your walking habit is good. Just add small snacks and a short course of acidity medicine and you should feel better in a few days.

Increased burping for the last 15 days is usually related to acidity, delayed gastric emptying, or excess air swallowing, and it commonly becomes more noticeable when the stomach is empty before meals. Maintain regular meal timings, avoid tea/coffee on an empty stomach, carbonated drinks, spicy or oily foods, and eat slowly to reduce air intake. You may take a course of an antacid such as pantoprazole 40 mg once daily before breakfast for 5–7 days along with a digestive enzyme after meals. Continue your walking routine, stay hydrated, and monitor symptoms; if burping persists, worsens, or is associated with pain, weight loss, or vomiting, please undergo a physical evaluation and basic gastrointestinal work-up.”

Most likely gastric acidity + empty stomach gas build-up (common when meals are spaced out). When the stomach stays empty for long, acid + gas accumulate → more burping before lunch/dinner. Simple steps: Don’t stay empty for 5–6 hours. – Add a small mid-morning snack (banana, buttermilk, handful of nuts) – Add a light evening snack (fruit, puffed rice, coconut water) Avoid triggers: tea/coffee on empty stomach, spicy/oily food, carbonated drinks. Medicine (safe short course): – Pan 40 (or any pantoprazole) once daily empty stomach for 10 days. – If gas is more: Sooktyn / Gelusil / Digene after meals as needed. Continue walking after dinner — good habit. When to worry: Continuous burping with chest burning, weight loss, vomiting, black stools → need doctor review.
