Dear sir.....when.there.is drying.of.any tissue and a irritation over it will cause growth and particular thick Fibromatous growth.....this can.not be relived  by any balm and it needs first a emolient application to soften the mass...2nd cessation of any habbit like nail biting...a needle bite kind...3rd followup with dentist to cross check improvement and,4th after 6months if it persistent then a minor surgical intervention by prefer laser.....chek ur lipid profile pathological test to rule out any xanthomatous tissue deposit if any
Next Steps
followup for 6months and use steroidal emolient twice daily like TURBOCORT....
Health Tips
no smoke ...cessation of habbits

Most likely it's a small growth which maybe either a fibroma or a mucocele.  Both are easily treatable with a minor surgical procedure involving no pain and very little healing time.  The whole process won't take more than 30 min.
Next Steps
See your dentist for an accurate diagnosis and appointment.
Health Tips
Try not to chew on it any more and remember it will not go away on its own.

The best way to approach the problem would be to visit a dentist and the attending dentist will help you through proper protocol for treatment.

What ever procedure may it be, will definitely be minor.
