2018-01-14 16:52:46
Samarth (5 years) has met an accident and his temporary front teeth got broken. His wonderful smile is now distorted. We were planning to gof or pedi partials..however i have some doubt about it. a) Is there any chance of it getting swallowed (would it be dangerous). b) would it cause any problem with permanent teeth c) Is it worth it. Is it recommened by pedia dentist d) What is it durability. Will it stay or come off easily. Can it be used for chewing etc?

The child's teeth if it's broken has to be first assessed whether it's vital or non vital and age factor into consideration. After taking all parameters into account. If a Root Canal is contemplated we shall wait to see if the crown is fixed within a short time . The temporary crowns are not removable either and it's securely fixed in a way that it will be there till the permanent tooth erupt and restore the position. So you don't need to worry much.

All the above mentioned questions can be answered after seeing a Radiograph of X-ray of that tooth. Treatment depends on extent of root resorption of that milk tooth, and developmental status of new tooth which has to replace affected milk tooth.
Next Steps
Kindly consult à pediatric dentist

Hi..There is no chance of partial denture being swallowed.. it won't fracture if it is made up of a durable material, it won't be of much help for chewing  it is more for looks. It will not affect the eruption of permanant teeth. Kindly consult paediatric dentist for needful.
