Breast feeding problem
I have 12 days baby... the problem is that he is not sucking mothers milk, however he catches mother Breast n suck for only two or three times n then stop. I have also used breast shield , but the problem is same. I m very worried. right now I just feed him by bottle as no options I have. pls suggest

there seems to be a problem with latching. this happens in the initial days if the mother has an inverted nipple or if the baby's mouth is too small and the nipple is too big.
you need to consult with a lactation specialist or a pediatrician or even a gynaecologist in person, so they can examine what is going wrong.
until then the baby can be fed expressed breastmilk. kindly avoid bottle feeding as this will lead to nipple confusion and further aggravate the problem, not to mention the risk of infection.
