Bp went 174/92

Hi doctor, My grandfather takes bp medicine Amlodipine 5 mg every morning after breakfast.. I checked his Bp right now and it is coming 174/92.. Can I give him a second dose of the same medicine now? Pls advise.

Don't give him a second dose of Amlodipine. Please record his BP morning and evening for five days. Please also get his ECG and Blood urea done.

It's compulsory to take a second Antihypertensive ....and need to assess the cause of hypertension despite all these medications.. Rule out all those emergency causes too... For eg.... Aneurysm etc....
