Am at 29 weeks pregnant with a low Hb %age as 8.2. Doctor recommended blood transfusion as early as possible. Any alternative to this? Or the case is actually this serious?

during delivery you'll have some blood loss which will further affect your hb and cause fatigue breathlessness and sometimes preterm and low birth weight baby. since you are 29 weeks pregnant you have few more weeks.inj iron sucrose is the other option available,if you are allergic to inj iron sucrose then blood tranfusion is the only way.

At 29 weeks with Hb 8.2 gm % there is no need for blood transfusion.  Time is on your side.  There are better alternatives available.

Since there still is time left in your delivery, you could go for injectable iron preparation rather than blood transfusions, discuss this with your gynaecologist.
