Baseline PCOD

Hi My wife is being diagnosed with baseline PCOD by doctor however we have not done any tests. Her ovaries measurements in ultrasound were: Right - 3.3 * 1.61*1.04 cm ( Volume - 2.88 cc) Left - 2.79*1.76*0.76 cm (Volume - 1.94 cc) I even counted the follicles in both ovaries, right had 4 and left has 5. She is worried sick about this, however I checked on the internet and it seems to me the ovaries size and follicles count are normal and nowhere near to suggest PCOD. Should we get a second opinion on this and do test??

PCOS is a holistic diagnosis. It is not based entirely on sonography. The examination and investigations will depend on what the patient wants (pregnancy or regular periods or weight loss). Please consult a Gynaecologist in your area for a proper evaluation and management.
