Insomnia can be caused due to number of reasons. Any recent illness you had? Stress? Daytime sleepiness? running thoughts all the time? etc. Its better to get treated before it worsens.

Meanwhile you can try these measures at home- Go to bed at the same time each night and get up at the same time each morning, including on the weekends. Bed is only to sleep do not read book or use phone on bed. Make sure your bedroom is quiet, dark, relaxing, and at a comfortable temperature. Remove electronic devices, such as TVs, computers, and smart phones, from the bedroom. Avoid large meals, caffeine, smoking and alcohol before bedtime.
