ATFL Grade 2 Injury

I sprained my left ankle 6 weeks ago and it was diagnosed as GRADE 2 ATFL injury while playing badminton. I got temporary splint for 8 days then I am taking the support of ankle binder and doing icing 3 times a day. I have been coming to office since last week daily. Sometimes my ankle swell up if i stand or sit for an hour or so then after icing and elevating it the swelling reduces. I am able to put pressure on my feet and walking has improved 60% since injury. My question is why my feet swelling up again and again plus if there is any need of MRI OR OPERATION?? Should I take WFH from office or can I go to office ??

Swelling: The swelling is due to an increased blood supply to the injured tissues as part of the body's natural healing process. While sitting at your office, you may use a small stool or footrest to keep your foot elevated. Continue regular ice fomentation to help reduce pain and swelling. Repeat MRI: Since you mentioned a Grade 2 injury, I assume this grading is based on an MRI that has already been performed. If that is the case, there is usually no need to repeat the MRI at this stage unless your symptoms worsen significantly or your orthopaedic consultant specifically advises it. Is surgery necessary? In most cases, Grade 2 ATFL injuries can be managed successfully without surgery. Surgery is generally reserved for professional athletes or individuals whose activities demand a very high level of ankle stability, or for patients who continue to have persistent pain, instability, or limitations in their day-to-day activities despite an adequate trial of conservative treatment.

You have take up good measures for the healing of your ATFL .. but as ankle is weight bearing part of body it’ll take longer to heal it may take upto 12 weeks for the complete healing You can continue with ice pack and limb elevation and restricted weight bearing I don’t think there is a role for new MRl you can continue your daily activities with the above precautions
Next Steps
Try not to stand for long hours and avoid walking very long distances at one stretch .. climbing stairs should be done without pressure on the affected ankle
Health Tips
Limb elevation and ice pack continuation

Most of the ankle injuries and sprains tend to have repeated swelling on excess activity or walking... Unless you have pain , you can just observe
Health Tips
If your ankle is getting repeatedly sprained or you feel imbalance or unstable while walking, stair climbing.. then you need to undergo MRI and based on MRI further surgical management might be needed

It must be reactionary oedema due to posture. Just excercing the ankle and foot elevation will do the needful.
