Anomaly scan can be done anytime between 18-22 wks. Better to do after 20 wks so that all structure are well developed by then. So not to worry it is normal to do at 22 wks

Hello , it could be a case of wrong dates or delayed conception . Try and date from the first scan . In a few cases all organs are not visible by 20 weeks properly hence they are told to do scan after 10-15 days for full scan. This doesn't mean the growth is abnormal. Don't worry .

You will have to ask this question to the doctor who said the baby is small Without details of the growth parameters and examination it is impossible to clear the actual cause How about putting this question forth to the doctor doing the ultrasound

Is it a growth problem? ➡️ Usually NO. If there was true growth restriction at 20 weeks, the radiologist would have told you immediately and advised Doppler / follow-up. Most likely, they only meant the baby is slightly small for doing detailed measurements right now, not that your baby is not growing. What you should do: Go for the scan at 22 weeks as advised. Continue your routine medications, iron, calcium, folic acid. Count fetal movements later on (from 24–28 weeks).
Next Steps
When to worry? Only if: They mention EFW <10th centile They ask for Doppler immediately They tell you about reduced fluid Since none of this was mentioned, it is not a complication.
Health Tips
If you want, you can tell me: Your exact gestational age (19+? / 20+?). Your dating scan EDD. Any values given in today’s scan report. I can interpret it for you.
