Allergic rhinitis in air conditioning

Are air conditioners harmful for allergic rhinitis patients? I am suffering from allergic rhinitis for past 8 years and I'm under medication. I was thinking of installing air conditioner in my house but is it gonna bother my allergies more? Or should I go for it?

Usually allergy is to dust or pollen.. New air conditioners come with air purifiers and filters.. So maybe it won't be a problem

Air conditioner per say is not harmful. It is due to lodging of pollen, mold and dust mites in air conditioning units that they can become sources of aggravation of allergic symptoms. Please get yourself tested for what exactly you are allergic to. Ensure regular cleaning of AC units and filters. This should help you.
