Dear client. Insomnia can be due to a no of different medical neurological or psychiatric illnesses. Insomnia also can be an independent disorder but in order to treat or help someone, a clinician would require more information and a thorough assessment before starting any treatment. You should try to follow some sleep hygiene measures. Use the bed only for sleeping and not for tv, food, reading etc. Avoid tea and coffee in evening. Habe a light meal in the evening. Remove clocks from the bedroom and keep mobile phone away.
If there are other causes for insomnia like frequent waking for passing urine, then get blood sugar checked for diabetes.
If these things don't work, consult a psychiatrist in person for treatment.
