My wife is in her 9nth month of pregnancy and she is having severe tooth ache. Seems she needs root canal or extraction of wisdom tooth. Her gynaecologist is just giving pain killers which is not doing any good, they are not ready to take risk. She is suffering with pain 24 hours. Plz suggest any gynaecologist and dentist who can help us...

some treat ment during pregancy there is absolute contraindicated. but in emergency it can be open up for root canal and extripate pulp and give safe dressing material which can be changed at some interval till delivery and then she can complete her rct post delivery. many acute problems pain wont subside with paracetamol she needs to take antibioticsas well. teeth needs to be attended.

Hi Usually dental treatments  are not done during 2nd and 3 rd trimister of pregnancy.... Because during 3 rd trimister if we did any dental treatment may cause raise in certain hormone level results in pre term labour..so mostly mild dose analgesics will be prescribed... You need to consult with dentist for further management

Usually it's better to avoid any treatment during 9th month. Consult and oral and maxillofacial surgeon near you for wisdom tooth extraction but he can also remove it if your gynecologist seems it fine.

Best thing would be visit a dentist and trust him if by his experience and clinical skills he suggests that the extraction of the teeth will be very less traumatic then better would be get the teeth removed than taking painkillers on regular basis and still bearing the pain..
