5th base Metatarsal fracture
Hi,
It's been 8 weeks that I had the 5th base metatarsal fracture due to ankle twist while playing Badminton.
I got an Xray done on last Friday which still shows the crack. For 2 days I tried to walk in normal footwear and not in the air cast boot. Due to this my leg is paining a lot and also little swelling reappeared.
I have attached the photo of latest Xray.
How should I proceed further?
Is there any other way rather than doing a surgery?

You being 24 with 69kg weight
The avulsion fracture Still not united and causing significant pain does warrant surgery
But was your foot in a good immobilization to let the fracture heal and did you take adequate rest and good balanced diet
