*The findings show effects of High Blood Pressure on the heart. *Target blood pressure is less than 130/80 for the patient and MUST have the blood pressure under control with medications. *Get urine tests: microscopy and Albumin/Creatinine ratio. *Screen for Diabetes ( HbA1C) and high lipids (complete lipid profile) All the best. Your 2D Echo shows: • Left Atrium (LA) = 44 mm → mildly enlarged (previously 33 → now increased) • Mild concentric LVH → thickening of heart muscle • LVEF 60% → normal pumping function • Grade I diastolic dysfunction → early relaxation abnormality
Next Steps
• Check and monitor: – Blood pressure (very important) – Fasting sugar, HbA1cLipid profile • Consult cardiologist / physician for: – BP optimization (if elevated) – Consider starting medication if required • Repeat Echo after 6–12 months to monitor LA size progression
Health Tips
• Weight reduction is crucial (BMI currently high) → target gradual loss • Daily 30–40 min brisk walking • Reduce salt intake (important if BP borderline/high) • Avoid smoking/alcohol (if applicable) • Good sleep—screen for snoring/OSA if overweight ⚠️ Red flags: • Breathlessness, palpitations, reduced exercise tolerance ⸻
