Hi my doctor suggested me to take amitriptyline for one month for migraine and cervical spondylitis pain. I am also suffering from anxiety and depression and panic attacks right now. After taking one month I feel better but as soon as I stopped taking medicines, my pain started to come back and I am more anxious now so should so should I continue taking the medicine? Are there any side-effects for amitriptyline?

Hello
In feel your pain!
All mental health illnesses including migraine have recurrent nature and it's advised to take medications for an appropriate amount of time to decrease the chances of recurrence. Furthermore it's not advisable to stop medications abruptly without doctors advice, it will make you feel worse because of acute discontinuation. Kindly consult so that all the problems can be discussed and appropriate treatment plan charted.

Usually side effects are dose dependent.
So with lower doses side effects are Usually less so if with discontinuation leads to relaps than there need to continue medicine with some other med with fewer side effects
