AMIKACIN IS INJCTD IN2 BLOOD.IS IT SAFE?
I have been diagnosed with ecoli in my urine.my doctor did culture test and prescribed me amikacin 500 mg injections twice daily for a week.
He told me to inject into buttocks.i have injected into buttocks for 3 days.since I have pain nurse injected one injection into blood through vien without infusion.he just injected like IM in just 15 sec.I have searched and found that amikacin through IV should be done in 30 minutes slowly but he just injected into my left hand vien in 15 sec..is it safe to inject amikacin like this into blood? I'm scared.pls help.

If you don't have any symptoms be reassured but better to check your serum creatinine values in 3 to 5 days.
