Hi there...HbA1C is mostly 7.2. Not 72. But your fasting blood sugars and post prandial sugars are on the higher side. But not very severe. HbA1C is also slightly on the higher side. You will have to start excercises and follow a strict diet to control your sugar levels. Also consult a general physician, they will start you on antidiabetic medications to control the sugar levels. Diabetes is a life long disease. Whether you need mediations lifelong depends on how well your sugar levels are controlled. You will need to get tested regularly. If they are well under control with strict diet and exercise, then the physician will decide whether to stop the medications.
