Alogia or paucity of speech content in schizophrenia suggests negative symptoms that can be very distressing and difficult to treat.
Issues related to frontal lobe functions like planning, execution are common in chronic schizophrenia suggesting poor prognosis. Although various medication combinations can be tried the evidence for improvement is limited.
