Alfuzosin usage for women
Doctor has prescribed Alfuzosin tablets for my wife who has severe pain while urinating which is increasing before and after period. Doctors here in Sweden done all the tests and recommended this and further investigation is still ongoing. But when I read in internet, this tablet is recommended only for men and not for women. Can you guys please suggest this can be used by women also if recommended by doctor based on investigations.

Alfuzosin is mostly prescribed for BPH in males but on rare occasion can be prescribed to females with bladder neck obstructive symptoms. It's not unsafe to take it for a woman. It's safety is not known only if woman is Pregnant or nursing/breastfeeding her baby. Evaluation details and course will help to know will she have improvement with this medication or not. Hope this helps
