My friend's father is an alcohol addict. How we can help him with some kind of medicine so that he will slowly get rid of alcohol because his cholestrol level is increasing. Please tell me that is there any kind of side effect of these medicines?

You can take help from deaddiction groups like AA or professional De Addiction centres at cities like Mumbai, Pune etc. Anti abuse drugs can also be given but need observation for untoward effects and patient's cooperation and strong will to get rid of this. You can consult for further details.
