Hi Initially minoxidil causes apparent increase in hair loss as new hair are replacing the older ones. It will resolve in approx 1 month. For itching and flakiness you can use water based minoxidil and Ketoconazole shampoo.

Don't worry...you are suffering from seborrheic dermatitis causing this flaking.. Specific medicine available for good control... Treatment depends on the severity..Do direct online consultation for detailed prescription by sending photos.

When newly growing hair replaces the already existing loose one, there is apparent increase in Hairfall, this is what exactly happens in the beginning of minoxidil usuage. White flakyness can occur with alcohol based minoxidil preparations, can switch to minicheck which is aquaeous based.
