Aerophagia
I have disturbed sleep issues. In the past I used to have sneeze a lot in the mornings. Suspecting my breathing issue to be the culprit I started taping my mouth. Sneezing disappeared but I started to experience aerophagia and excessive belching. I am sure that this is due to my mouth being completely shut during the sleep and the resusltant pressure difference. I stopped taping 3 months back but the aerophagia doesn't seem to go away. I want to restore normalcy by partially opening my mouth. Can anyone suggest me a good breathing technique or some other solution.

Suggest you meet an ENT Surgeon specialising in treating Sleep Disordered Breathing. To start, a non-contrast CT scan of your nose and paranasal sinuses should give your doctor a lot of information on why your body switches to mouth breathing when you are sleeping.

If possible, come down to Bangalore and meet me.
