Acute complete acl rupture.
I met with a bike accident, no external injuries, but has a knee twist, took mri and i am diagnosed with Acute complete acl rupture. Won't acl heal itself? Is acl reconstruction the only way, if want to do gym and sports normally I was doing before in some months? Is the surgery normal and with less side effects?

Yes when   surgery is underwent by a good orthopedic surgeon results are great . physiotherapy by a professional physiotherapist in the long term will help u achieve all your goals.but it vl take time.mere delay in surgery if indicated and bearing pain should not lead into a arthritic knee joint .so early intervention can be the key.though Rehabilitation will be a long term process to be focused on.till then do frequent icing for 20 mins.give compression and elevation for your lower limb.
Next Steps
visit a orthopedic surgeon and professional physiotherapist
Health Tips
