Acne on face
I have started having this problem of acne on cheeks and little bit on chin area from past 4-5 months.Because of which I am not able to clean my face properly and open pores results in clogging with blackheads and whiteheads.Have always wanted a smooth even skin. Was thinking of ordering pro-active as heard a lot of good reviews.Off late have put on a lot of weight as well. All this while pimples might be due to heat in stomach but now that I am taking care of my diet they have reduced but not going totally.

Hello, I can understand your frustration. Acne is a chronic condition and from your symptoms it appears to be related to hormonal causes. Pimples come because of blocked pores and increase in sebum ultimately leading to blackheads and infection. You can try Pro-active;the main ingredient of it is benzoyl peroxide which is one of the medicines commonly prescribed for acne treatment. But in my opinion it is an expensive product. There are creams containing the same at a fraction of the cost from recommended companies! However if the acne is severe or not responding to topical medication then oral drugs are advised along with some blood tests to rule out hormonal imbalances if any. Adjuvant treatment modalities like comedone extraction, peels, laser can be added depending on the response. Timely treatment will prevent formation of scars and pigmentation. Along with this you need to focus on lifestyle changes like daily exercise, weight reduction ,avoiding outside junk food, dairy products and consume more vegetables. Hope this answers your questions.
