? Acne vulgaris... clinical approach depends on the grading of the acne..may be your having grade 3 or grade 4 acne vulgaris..., more number of pustules and nodular acne which may leave post acne complications, ..like acne scars, post acne hyperpigmentation (black spots). To prevent this you need to take systemic antibiotics retinoids like Isotretinoin will help you..that are the guidelines.
Next Steps
check the basic investigations like CBC,SerumLIPID PROFILE ,LFT &RFT.which are necessary... after that you can take the medicines...don't worry about the side effects its recommended for acne vulgaris as I explained in higher grade acne. Doctor has prescribed correctly you can go ahead...and side like dryness, chelities, mild hair fall (reversible) ...etc are manageble.
