Abscess pain
I have an abscess in the anal area but not inside since three days ; it has pain and swelling ; did meet a doctor who has advised a surgery to drain the blood and remove any pus etc if formed .. But he had given tablets that were pain killers and the pain has come done overnight and am feeling better though there is a bit of swelling and pain. Thinking of doing home remedy or medication and seek second opinion before doing a surgery if that's the last option to avoid any further delay or relapse etc. Pls advise.

It is reasonable to wait if the pain is better. Sitz baths (sitting in a tub of hot water) help it to drain earlier. Go back to the surgeon if it persists or recurs.
