Abscess in underarm
My son (1.5 year old) all of a sudden had swelling in left underarm close to chest. He is active and no fever. But he had fever and rashes two weeks back and with atarex & p125 he become normal. The swelling is big and we see some hardness on touching the same. Pediatric says that needs to be Operated and to clean the pus. Is this can only be treated with surgery. We notice skin peel in all his finger tip. Other pediatric suggest to get admit and to give antiobiotic via IV. Not sure what needs to be done. Could you please help or suggest. Attaching the swelling pic and scan

Hi, The swelling is big. There can be a huge collection of pus inside
Next Steps
Only after incision and completely draining the pus, the child will get better. Child too requires antibiotics and identification of the organism causing this issue. So, surgery is the better option.
