About Thyroid gland functioning
I have done my blood test last week. I got my thyroid results as follows TSH 3rd gen: 4.95 Free thyroxine (FT4): 0.80 I am 10 weeks pregnant now and worried about this results. Whether it is hypothyroidism and could effect my baby's brain development?

Hi thanks for writing to Practo consult Hi do not worry, thyroid problems are very common. And if this values are out of the range for the gestation specific norms ( i.e. the stage of your pregnancy) then your gynecologist will start you on treatment. Remember once started on treatment pls take it meticulously, so that baby's growth does not suffer. Usually pediatrician does TFT of baby at 72 hours after birth, to assess babies thyroid status.
