Asked for Female, 28 Years

Hello doctors... My baby is 9 months old now. My baby has diarrhea from 2 days. Motion passes 3 to 4 times daily. Doctor suggests nor-metrogyl o syrup( metronidazole and ofloxacin suspension). Can I give this syrup for my baby?

Hi.. Passing motion 3-4 times a day is OK. How is the stool consistency? Is it watery? Is there blood in stool. Is baby feeding well? Is baby active and play full? Is there fever? Is answer to all above Is no than u don't have to worry. Just keep feeding. And watch for all danger signs I explained above. And no need to give antibiotic for now.

Health Tips

give more water, u can give ORS also. and start syp zinc 10 mg/Day for 14 days. that will help in loose motion. NO antibiotic syrup.
