As a ent surgeon I can guide you that coughing is due to colonization of nasopharyngeal area by virus when u had infection and damage caused to nasopharyngeal area by virus and viral particles. Did your covid treatment required hospital stays and use of steroid

Duration of cough may depend upon your severity of your covid illness . If you don’t have fever and cough is dry , do breathing exercises.
