It may be the trauma of intercourse that is causing the discomfort. If both of you were having sex for the first time you can decide to wait for things to settle down by themselves. If you can see an injury in a hand held mirror you can use some calendula cream to help heal it. However if this was not your partners first time you may have an infection that needs treating by a gynaecologist or a doctor specialising in skin and DVD.
