My wife have hard nodule on ear lobe.she had small surgery 2 yr back due to cut on ear piricing after that a little hard nodule which increasing gradually can we remove it by small surgery or what is it suggest.

This gradual, firm growth following a previous cut or surgery is most likely a hypertrophic scar. Simple surgical excision has a high recurrence rate (often over 50%), and the keloid can return larger than before.
Treatment Options:--
1. Intralesional Corticosteroid Injections.
2. Surgical Excision with follow up steroid injections, silicone sheets, or pressure therapy to prevent recurrence.
3. Cryotherapy: Freezing the scar tissue with liquid nitrogen, often combined with steroid injections.
*Do not attempt to squeeze, cut, or re-pierce the affected earlobe, as any new injury can accelerate keloid growth.

This is known as a keloid. After the surgery, the body tried to heal itself. But in some people, the cell healing becomes overactive and a keloid scar is produced.
There are many treatment modalities for it, although it has a very high tendency for recurrence.
Intralesional steroid injections might shrink the nodule. You can also opt for excision followed by steroids/ pressure therepy/silicone gel sheet application. Although the chances of recurrences are high.
