Hello doctor, My father aged 84 years eats very very less food since 1 month, bedridden only gets up to go to bathroom for urine. He has severe aortic stenosis diagnosed 2.5 years back. He talks less. He has not passed stool foe past 7 days. His USG abdomen scan done 5 days back is all normal.

You need to give him preferably high fibre diet and small dose of laxative ( 4tsp of syrup Cremaffin) in the night and slowly increase the dosage and the frequency of laxative
If this doesn’t work then Pc Enema may be tried
And as the next resort he may be given a peglac preparation.
For the latter step, he needs to be admitted in the hospital
