HbA1c reflects the average blood sugar over the past three months, and a level of 6.5% or higher is diagnostic for diabetes. Notably, over 50% of people with diabetes may not experience noticeable symptoms; testing is crucial for diagnosis. Additionally, other blood tests can reveal indicators of metabolic syndrome, such as elevated triglycerides, low HDL, fatty liver disease, and obesity.
