67 year old heavy smoker
My father who is too much habitual of  beedi. He smoke i thing each hour in a day. But he can't leave it. Whenever he smoke beedi , he cough usually which is fill of mucus. He produces lots of mucus whenever he cough. If I say he cough  and spit mucus hourly interval. Till last 5 days, no issues was there. But from last five days he is spitting mucus lot. Specially in night . He can't sleep well because of wet cough. He has wet cough only due to smoking bbut he know that stiil not leaving smoking. Now I m helpless. He doesn't listen anyone and spit here and there. Please suggest medicine or emergency medicine to deal with. Because the condition is going words . But he is obstinate. How to treat his cough. What other medicine required
