Hello, my baby boy is 4 months 10 days old and exclusively on breast milk till now. Weight- 5.9 Since last one month, baby wants to suck on breast at night many times. I feel it is not due to hunger but he just wants to suck on something for comfort. One doc suggested formula and another cerelac but i m not convinced.

Need to know the birth weight to calculate adequate weight gain. Nothing wrong in giving breast milk as many times as the child demands. Non nutritive suckling or comfort sucking no harm in it. No need of giving pacifier or artificial feeds. Exclusive breast feeds for six complete months is strongly recommended. Regards
